Mini in The Loop, 18” x 24”
The Loop, hub of Chicago’s business community, is such an iconic neighborhood. I’ll admit, I was envious of those who worked there in the nineties. Somehow in my twenty-something mind, it meant you had an important career. Typically, nothing I had an interest in of course, but loved the idea of the corporate world, dressing up, commuting on the el, and most importantly, meeting up for happy hour after work. Clearly, I watched too many rom coms back then.
I'm happy to let you know I'm no longer envious. But I do love seeing it reimagined, especially after covid. It’s continuing to make a transformation where people not only work, but live, dine, shop and enjoy the arts more than ever.
In addition to the buildings, street, el tracks and people, I hope you noticed the little pup having a ride in her carrier. This is sweet Mini, a dear old friend of mine and true city girl. Mini passed away in 2023 in Hawaii where she lived out her last years in paradise.
